Personality:

Jessie is a toy with valleys and mountains of emotion. She can swing from real high-highs to real low-lows at the flip of a switch. She lacks middle gears in that respect. When you're interacting with her, you get all of Jessie or none of her, there's almost no in-between.

Her highs are something to behold. She has boundless, excitable energy, often literally bouncing around like she can't contain her own glee. She's seemingly ceaselessly enthusiastic- happy to meet new toys and make everything around her a little happier in the process. She'll greet loved ones with a bouncing, twirling bear-hug- making it abundantly clear how much they mean to her. Some of this might well stem from her fears of being unloved, but more on that later. She's not afraid to let anyone know they mean the gosh darn world to her.

She's (almost) fearless, too. Jessie thinks nothing of diving headlong into danger with a well placed yodel, especially if it means protecting her friends or helping out critters in need. She'll parkour like the best of them, racing along high places, using a hot wheels car like a gosh-darn skateboard or doing battle with an actual iguana. So long as the adventure doesn't touch on one of her phobias, she's willing to take on just about anything. She's an old west cowgirl through and through- rough and tumble and a complete tomboy. She's scrappy as all get-out, fully prepared to throw down if her anger is riled and especially if one of her loved ones is being hurt. She's stubborn as they come. Once she's decided she's right about something she'll dig her heels in until proven wrong. This puts her at odds with the equally stubborn Woody on more than one occasion.

Jessie wears her heart on her sleeve. She isn't one to lie or cover up anything. You get the truth from her, regardless of how brutal it might be sometimes. She gets real dang insulted if she gets called a liar. All her cards are out on the table when she talks to someone, there's no subterfuge or half-truths. If she's angry with you, she will gosh darn tell you that she's angry with you, just as much as she'll tell you how much she loves you or admit she's scared or sad.

But with those high-highs come the low-lows. The Emily Debacle left Jessie deeply scarred, with a lingering fear of being unwanted and unloved. When these memories are rekindled, she tends to sit alone, her little legs tucked up to her chin as she mulls over her own melancholy. If she feels she's being tossed aside or left behind, she tends to spiral back to the day she was left at the side of the road. This is when she acts her most defensive in a very much "I'll get away from this before it can hurt me" kind of way. This is especially prevalent when she thinks Andy has abandoned her. She's instantly ready to leave for Sunnyside, unwilling to listen to Woody's reassurances that she was attic-bound. As far as she was concerned, Andy abandoned her, and she was not willing to be left at the side of the road, unloved again. Being abandoned is Jessie's biggest fear, to be sure.

Not that it's her only fear, oh no. After Emily came Al, who kept Jessie in a cardboard box for 20-30 years - Jessie saw no sunlight and certainly wasn't played with. All she had for company were a horse that couldn't talk and a guy mint in his box- as they were added to Al's collection. The experience left Jessie with a crippling fear of the dark and even worse claustrophobia. The very thought of being in a small, enclosed space is enough to spiral her into a full-blown panic attack. Because toys can get PTSD, it turns out. Though she's learned to fight it enough to try and work a way out if she's trapped these days (thanks to Combat Carl's teachings), the fear is still very much there. She hasn't got rid of it and it can still spiral out of control if it catches her by surprise. As with most of her hurts, having her little family support her has done wonders in helping her face her troubles - because she doesn't have to deal with it alone any more.

Jessie is a toy who has been scarred by her past but learned to put her broken parts back together despite everything. Her damage still rears its ugly head once in a while - but she's learned to trust again- to allow others to hold a place in her beat-up heart once more. She's a toy who stays rambunctious and loving despite her past. Instead of letting the darkness swallow her whole, she rallies against it and has come out stronger for it. She might only be 13 inches tall, but she's absolutely someone you want in your corner - and she'll be in it through and through once you've earned her trust.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
She's a living toy, so having sentience might count- who the heck knows, what are the rules in the Toy Story universe? She's made of cloth, stuffing and plastic and as such is pretty durable. She can survive high falls or having body parts ripped off her fairly well- she won't like it, but other than completely destroying her, she can't really be 'killed'.

She has an affinity for "critters". In Woody's Roundup, it seems to be a Disney Princess Superpower for the character of Jessie, being able to yodel and summon masses of animals to do her bidding. Though Toy Jessie can't yodel and pull an Immigrant Song on anyone like her Woody's Roundup counterpart, she sure loves animals a lot and has a way of getting close to them. Does this mean she'll try to amass a squirrel army or try to bribe the Authority onto her side? Probably, yeah.

Inventory:
  • Her gosh-darn self, along with her little cowgirl hat
  • One (1) sheriff's badge. Specifically Woody's sheriff badge.
  • A wee little rope lasso

Permissions for Character: HERE. Of course, the mods are always welcome to do any 4th walling they like!
Are you comfortable with prominent elements of fourth-walling?: I'm A-OK with mods doing it, but let's not give this girl any more issues than she already has. Recognising her from Woody's Roundup is absolutely fair game, though.
What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: There's very little I'd shy away from. Gimmie monsters, gimmie psychological horror, gimmie the works. This girl here specifically has some pretty solid phobias around the dark, abandonment and small spaces, so playing on those would be great.
Is there anything in particular you absolutely need specific content warnings for?: Only the clown thing that has already been dealt with in my Louis app, we good!
